Ina Ray Hutton, nicknamed ”Blonde Bombshell of Rhythm”, was a female bandleader & great tap-dancer, around 1934+, her all female band “the Melodears” unfortunately broke up in 1939.

Big Apple Contest
Whitey’s Lindy Hoppers performing a Big Apple routine which was choreographed by Frankie Manning. It was originally part of the film “Keep Punchin'”, which premiered in Harlem on December 7th 1939, and was also released as the short “Jittering Jitterbugs” in 1943.
